Sr. Manager, Market Research - Small Business Bank
Capital One is seeking a Market Research Senior Manager to lead the research function within our Small Business Bank team. This dynamic role requires a professional ready to leverage their market research and customer insights expertise at a company consistently recognized as a great place to work.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various business partners and leadership stakeholders. Their primary responsibility will be to deliver actionable insights that will inform product development, service offerings, customer experiences, and marketing strategies for Small Business Bank. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of managing research budgets and third-party vendors to conduct primary research, ultimately applying these insights to drive business outcomes for key strategic initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
• 5 years of experience in a market research or customer insights role
• 5 years of experience in planning and analyzing qualitative and quantitative methods in market research

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree
• 10 years of experience in a market research or customer insights role
• 10 years of experience in planning and analyzing qualitative and quantitative methods in market research
• 3 years of experience on client-side market research within a large organization
• 3 years of experience with project management
• 1 year of design thinking experience
• 1 year of business-to-business or Financial Services experience
• 1 year of experience with leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and research approach
  The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
  McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr. Manager, Market Research
  Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
  This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.

• Leverage and integrate primary and syndicated research, multiple studies, secondary sources, and marketplace intelligence to generate impactful B2B insights that inform business, product and marketing strategies
• Diagnose and interpret business issues to define research goals and strategies in partnership of key stakeholders across business, product and marketing organization
• Independently scope and execute several concurrent research learning agendas
• Analyze and interpret complex reports and large data sets to synthesize key insights and develop research presentations with both data and business implications
• Present research findings to relevant stakeholders and work with client teams to activate on these insights
• Integrate and share insights across line of business teams, and obtain buy-in from leadership for research plans to address any knowledge gaps
• Manage budgets and external vendors for the execution of research studies and delivery of results.
