Overview
Sr. Manager, Risk - Enterprise Valuation Group (EVG)
Capital One’s Commercial Credit Risk team is looking for a highly qualified candidate to support the Enterprise Valuation Group – responsible for providing consistent valuations of all EV-reliant deals across the Commercial Bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams providing business enterprise valuations across various industries for regulatory and risk management purposes
  • Work closely with associates and senior associates, delegate deal responsibilities, conduct reviews of work product, and support professional development through coaching
  • Partner with credit officers and underwriting teams to calculate defensible, accurate, and consistent enterprise valuations for both performing and distressed companies
  • Create and maintain financial models using methods such as the discounted cash flow, comparable company and comparable transactions methods
  • Contribute to various team growth initiatives designed to keep increasing the strength of the valuation team as well as its presence and scope within the Bank
  • Handle more complex tasks and projects within discipline/ function
  • Recognize complex technical issues, evaluate facts efficiently, and use strategic decision-making skills to assist management in solving problems
  • Demonstrate savvy and understanding of interrelationship with other departments
  • Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge effectively through written and verbal communication

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in business valuation
  • At least 2 years of people leadership experience
  • At least 1 year of experience using market intelligence online databases

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Commercial bank experience
  • Experience performing valuations for distressed companies
  • Valuation credentials:
  • Accredited Member (AM) or Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation
  • Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV)
  • Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • 2+ years of experience using market intelligence online databases (Capital IQ)

    The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
    Chicago, IL: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Risk Manager
    McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr. Risk Manager
    Richmond, VA: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Risk Manager
    Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
    This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
