Job Description Summary Responsible for leading a regionally-based Supplier Quality and Development team within AVS and Imaging Businesses. This position is responsible for the AVS and Imaging Business Supplier Quality and Development activities within specified GE manufacturing sites and assigned supplier ownership, responsible for both supplier capability and quality performance monitoring and improvement across supplier selection, development and monitoring activities. In certain cases the leader can have additional responsibilities as the business segment ‘Point of Leadership’, and accountable for coordinating supplier management efforts across that segment. In addition to activities on NPI programs, Transfer programs, and quality improvement projects, this leader supports process improvement projects, ensuring cross-SBU consistency where appropriate. Furthermore, the leader will act as a local leader supporting team members from across SBUs in that region if necessary. This position works closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, QA, Product Quality Management and Engineering to deliver quality products to our customers with a total cost mindset. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development. Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence. SQEs have various levels of differentiation which are related to level of technical understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within their discipline. May require strong commercial awareness, and is expected to influence the development of strategy within own area, including control of resources and influences policy formulation. May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view. Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Work is subject to functional policy objectives. Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business. Has a supportive role in decision making about important subjects. High levels of evaluative judgment are required to achieve outcomes required. Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. Required Qualifications Requires min +10 years experience in Sourcing & Supplier Quality Engineering. Preferred team managing experience. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
