QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years experience in IT or Technology related project management.
  • PMP certification an asset or formal Project Management Training;
  • Strong demonstratable experience leading, developing, and motivating a team of direct reports and contract employees that aligns with the McDonald’s culture. Leadership of a Project Management Office is an asset.
  • Understand the relationship between EPMO and wider customer/organizational requirements.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. Demonstrates a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to generate strong recommendations to solving problems they are responsible for.
  • Be able to work under general direction within a clear framework of accountability, exercising substantial personal responsibility and autonomy and plan your own work to meet given objectives and processes.
  • Plan, schedule and monitor your teams work to meet time and quality targets.
  • Organized and meticulous with an outstanding attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and manages the Technology Project Management team to plan, execute, and deliver all projects/programs assigned and responsible to the Technology function by managing a complex and sophisticated portfolio and ensuring alignment with software, hardware, cross-functional, and local/Global needs and priorities.
  • Represent Canada market in the Global Technology Annual Planning process – leading and coordinating collaborative efforts with key Canadian cross-functional stakeholders – National Operations, Strategy & Insights, Marketing, Delivery, Finance – and Segment/Global stakeholders to ensure outputs reflect market plans that are aligned on throughout the entire system
  • Lead the Technology Intake Program to ensure that local business requests are properly triaged, assigned to the correct Tech cross-functional leads and delivered to meet the needs of the business.
  • Financial planning and budget management for a portfolio with a budget of $10M+.
  • Resource, vendor, and people management for Technology Project Management team, and support resource planning for other cross-functional areas of the Technology team.
  • Ensure technology portfolio projects are aligned to governance requirements of global, segment, and local market.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our technology stack—including frontend, backend, hardware, and infrastructure—and their dependencies to support Canadian and global priorities, to guide decisions on the technology roadmap.
  • Ensuring all stakeholders in the Canadian market are aware of key dates aligned on with the Global Tech team such as National Deployment Ready, to ensure that these timelines are reflected in Canada plans for National Deployment Complete and Activation in Market.
  • Report project status back to market, Segment, and Global throughout the life cycle of the projects.
  • Maintains an on-going relationship with McDonald’s market, Segment, Global to ensure program priorities are achieved to support the Canadian market strategy and business growth.
  • Develops and implements strong governance models and process innovation to continue to develop project management office success.
