Job Title: Sr Mechanical Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $58.17/hour
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Employment Type: Contract (6 Months, Potential for Extension or Permanent Hire)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of mechanical design and engineering experience with NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience in engine or auxiliary power unit (APU) design.
  • Proven application of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards, including GD&T, for both creating and checking drawings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Conceptual Design, Preliminary Design, and Detailed Design phases.
  • Experience in composite design.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex information.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

BEPC is seeking a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Phoenix, AZ. This role will involve working on advanced product development projects, from concept through manufacturing, with a focus on creating innovative and efficient designs. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, applying advanced CAD modeling, GD&T, and design-for-manufacturing principles to deliver high-quality solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Imagine, design, and develop products and systems as part of an integrated engineering team.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to create solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
  • Participate in all phases of product development, from conceptual to detailed design.
  • Perform CAD-based modeling and design engineering using NX and Teamcenter.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and weight optimization.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and provide cost estimates.
  • Prepare and present product designs to stakeholders.
  • Gather and apply customer feedback (Voice of Customer) to improve designs.
