Description SUMMARY OF POSITION The individual will work as a member of the research and development team to develop and release new products, improve existing products, and support production of these devices. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that new products are released on schedule with robust designs and acceptance testing methodologies that achieve cost objectives. Performs stress tests, analyzes data, and prepares reports. Prepares preliminary and detailed design drawings and design specifications. Participates on cross functional teams as a member and/or project manager. Mentor and direct work of junior engineers, designers, and technicians as required. Implement process and product changes using existing change control process. Supports existing products with problem solving and continuous improvement of cost and quality objectives. Manufacturing line support as needed. Support other Proteor sites and activities as needed. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in design and development. Medical device experience is preferred. Experience with composite design preferred. Experience with mechatronic design preferred. Experience with hydraulic system design preferred. Experience working in an ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 environment. FEA experience preferred. Established history of taking projects from concept through design, verification and validation, and commercial release. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Strong computer skills including; Solid Works, Catia, ERP software, Microsoft Office Proficient in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks Excellent technical writing and report writing abilities Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills Results oriented, works independently, and manages multiple projects simultaneously Problem Solving
