This role will direct the development of end-to-end leadership in an important, rapidly growing spend portfolio in the Drug Delivery Systems space for JNJ Innovative Medicine. This includes strategy development, key relationships within the business and managing key supplier relationships. This role covers the E2E scope (including development, through commercial to base business management) of the rapidly growing Drug Delivery Systems space and requires the seniority of a PG31 Sub-Category Leader with strong procurement and business acumen to lead this space in a compelling manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices
  • High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
  • Strong experience in Injection-Molding, Devices or Glass Primary Packaging is preferred
  • Expertise in contracting, understanding regulatory, legal, compliance and commercial elements
  • Customer Orientation, including building and maintaining strong relationships with JNJ senior Management
  • Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
  • Strong leadership, vison and strategy setting, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills

Strong project and change management capabilities

  • Strong business acumen
  • Multi-country and Multi-Sector experience preferred with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
  • Ability to seek and drive continuous improvements
  • Ability to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives
  • Judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues

  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and executing significant influencing roles.

EDUCATION

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s / University or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
  • MBA preferred
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute E2E DDS Procurement strategies that are aligned with the business/sector needs including sourcing strategy, negotiations, contract implementation and performance against established targets (Cost drivers, risk analysis, mitigation, analytics, applicability / of category value creation).
  • Manage supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and monitor supplier contract negotiations. Relationships are with senior executives at the supplier end
  • Manages relationship with key internal senior stakeholders, both in SC and R&D
  • Connect with, influence and shape the agenda with key internal supply-chain and R&D stakeholders regarding the appropriate supplier selection for upcoming NPDs and NPIs
  • Manage & prioritize portfolio of Procurement segment specific initiatives and provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership.
