The Senior Manager Finance Risk and Compliance leads a Team that provides risk identification and management, manages the company’s annual SOX compliance audit, drives automation and process improvement, and supports enterprise-wide technology projects. This role maintains, advances, and supports Finance in its responsibility to deliver compliance, collaboration, self-reporting, awareness, engagement, education, investigation, and resolution as it relates to applicable laws, regulations, and private contracts. Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal Team Members and external partners to align expectations, inspire action, spread awareness, and gain buy-in of the Controller risk & compliance strategies across the organization
  • Provide guidance, direction, and coordination on cross-departmental compliance initiatives, including leading on respective areas of development, reporting and compliance
  • Provide guidance on appropriate oversight and accountability for meeting compliance objectives through the use of evaluation, monitoring, and audits
  • Coordinate the Company’s Sarbanes’s Oxley (SOX) compliance program with outsourced partners who assist in the execution of policies & procedures; maintain on-going communication to achieve alignment on SOX planning and testing resulting in maximum efficiencies of the annual SOX audit
  • Manage the design, implementation and maintenance of appropriate internal controls over financial reporting, adhering to regulatory requirements including the COSO framework
  • Assess continuously the impact of business changes (e.g., technology projects, system conversions, process transformation, new regulations) and recommend changes to Finance’s compliance strategy
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on potential areas of departmental and enterprise risks and partner with leadership to develop and implement mitigation strategies
  • Champion process improvement and the use of data analytics and automation to achieve operational efficiencies while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with preparation of executive management and Audit Committee material highlighting overall risk & compliance programs, including SOX progress and results
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial regulatory requirements, and the COSO framework and experience applying the framework in a manner that protects the Company and supports SOX compliance and operational efficiencies
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of process flow mapping, design and documentation of controls, control testing, evaluation of control deficiencies and remediation plans
  • Skilled in communicating, with strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and presentation skills, that allow effective enterprise-wide interactions/communications with internal and external business partners, auditors and Executive Leadership
  • Skilled in identifying and evaluating financial and technology risks, evaluating the design and assessing the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Skilled in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times, and in persuading others to change their minds or behavior
  • Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to anticipate future and/or strategic trends within the industry; assess implications for the Department and Company, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to make time sensitive decisions to move work forward; take responsible risks to achieve goals

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
  • Design, implementation, and evaluation of business and information technology internal controls
  • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Financial business processes and IT general control requirements
  • Presentation and explanation of the Company’s internal control posture to various levels of leadership

Licensing/Certification

  • Required: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
