Description Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Hourly Non-Exempt Department: Mortgage Sales Reports To: Mortgage Branch Manager or Mortgage Sales Manager Position Summary The Senior Mortgage Loan Originator is a seasoned sales professional with more than five years of experience in residential mortgage lending. This role is responsible for independently originating loans, advising clients on suitable mortgage solutions, and managing the loan process from application to closing. The position includes collaboration with branch leadership and mentoring of junior originators, while contributing to overall sales goals and client satisfaction. Requirements Key Responsibilities Advise borrowers on mortgage products and lending options based on individual financial profiles Collect and analyze client financial documentation to determine eligibility and loan structure Submit complete and accurate loan applications for processing and underwriting Coordinate with processors, underwriters, and closers to ensure timely and efficient transactions Maintain active pipeline and track loan progress using origination systems Uphold regulatory compliance and ethical lending practices throughout the origination process Build and sustain referral relationships with real estate professionals, financial advisors, and other partners Assist in training and mentoring junior originators, sharing product knowledge and industry best practices Support branch sales goals and contribute to a positive team environment Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in business, finance, or communications preferred 5+ years of experience in residential mortgage origination Valid NMLS license in accordance with federal and state requirements Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to manage a loan pipeline and meet production goals Proficiency with loan origination systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Equal Opportunity Statement: Texana Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
