NATIONAL SALES MANAGER  Job Description   SUMMARY: Responsible for the sale of KENWOOD products to National Accounts. May coordinate sales activities under the supervision of the Senior Vice President, Mobility and Telematics to select and develop dealers and/or other distributor outlets by performing the following duties.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.   Seeks prospective National Account dealers/customers for KENWOOD.  Develops relationships with prospective accounts throughout the country.   Travels throughout the country to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on the sales floor or by phone.   Keeps informed on new products and other general information of interest to customers.   Displays or demonstrates products, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.   Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.   Maintains proper distribution to fit corporate policies.   Estimates the date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of KENWOOD’s production and delivery schedules.   Responsible for assisting and resolving chargeback or authorized deductions and correcting amounts due to KENWOOD.   Minimizes return ratios.   Maintains a sales program and promotional rhythm for each National Account in order to hit sales objectives.  Prepares reports of all phases of business activity and keeps expense accounts.   Works with inside sales support personnel to keep product flowing correctly and work through any logistical issues.   Checks on competitive activity.   Tracks inventory levels.   Coordinates customer training.   Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.   Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.   Attends trade shows.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a Four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.  Basic ability to read and understand customers’ financial reports and/or other related data.     REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.   Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Ability to travel a minimum of 20% of the time, some overnight travel is required.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.   WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.   JVCKENWOOD USA is an Equal Opportunity/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION Employer that values diversity and inclusion in the workplace.  It is the policy of this company to provide equal opportunity with regard to all terms and conditions of employment.
