Location: This position is onsite at the Parnall Service Center located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in realted field and 2+ years of experience with firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and network monitoring tools. 4+years of hands-on experience in IT or Network Administration.
  • [OR] Associate’s degree in realted field and 4+ years of experience with firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and network monitoring tools. 6+years of hands-on experience in IT or Network Administration.

Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Network Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure. This role includes hands-on configuration of networking hardware, troubleshooting advanced issues, and ensuring availability and performance across LAN/WAN environments. The Senior Network Engineer collaborates with IT and security teams to ensure network solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in planning and execution of disaster recovery strategies.
  • Conduct network performance tuning, capacity planning, and fault analysis.
  • Document configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide escalation support for complex issues.
  • Evaluate and deploy new network tools and technologies to improve operations.
  • Provide input to network strategy and roadmaps.
  • Design and implement network solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Configure and manage routing and switching protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
