Job Summary:
The Sr. Network Engineer – IT is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, and security of Morongo Casino Resort & Spa’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role serves as the subject matter expert in network security, virtualization, firewall policy, WAN/LAN optimization, and storage networking. The Sr. Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring system stability, business continuity, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, while mentoring team members and supporting cross-departmental IT initiatives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Leads network infrastructure strategy and provides technical oversight of network and security systems.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for firewall policy management, VPNs, wireless, and remote access.
  • Designs and maintains border security, ensures firewall compliance, and manages updates/patches.
  • Configures and maintains VMware environments and EMC SAN storage systems.
  • Administers and supports Active Directory and enterprise-level systems (Windows, SQL, Linux, Unix).
  • Installs, configures, and maintains routers, switches, VoIP systems, and cable infrastructure.
  • Supports email, anti-virus, anti-spam, system monitoring, and backup systems (e.g., EMC Data Domain).
  • Interfaces with vendors and partners to ensure secure and compliant external connectivity.
  • Performs security audits, root cause analyses (RCA), RFC reviews, and configuration backups.
  • Troubleshoots complex network and server issues including WAN, LAN, and wireless connectivity.
  • Maintains documentation of network standards, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinates incident, problem, and change management in accordance with ITIL practices.
  • Provides project leadership and technical consultation for infrastructure initiatives.
  • Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical support and escalations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent professional credentials are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering or infrastructure roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a senior or lead network engineer capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper) required.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, VPNs, wireless networking, and VoIP systems strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and working in a high-availability, fast-paced environment is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.
