We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer who can immediately step into a fast-paced environment, begin troubleshooting critical issues, and quickly contribute to stabilizing and optimizing network operations. The ideal candidate will not only resolve issues on the spot but also assess the overall infrastructure and develops recommendations towards a remediation and improvement roadmap as they become familiar with the environment. This role requires a strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, security practices, and network design — with the ability to balance operational needs against security requirements. Key Responsibilities Rapidly assess, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents to minimize downtime. Analyze current infrastructure, identify vulnerabilities, and create remediation and optimization plans. Manage and maintain enterprise firewalls, routers, and switches, ensuring proper configurations and security. Work with cross-functional teams to understand dependencies, address risks, and improve overall system resilience. Provide recommendations on firewall rules, segmentation, and access controls to balance performance and security. Document network architecture, changes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance. Mentor junior staff and share best practices for troubleshooting and proactive monitoring. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking roles. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to step in and make an immediate impact. Deep understanding of network infrastructure, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall concepts. Hands-on expertise with: Palo Alto Networks (Next-Gen Firewalls, Panorama) Cisco Meraki (Firewalls, Switches, Wireless) Fortinet FortiGate (NGFWs, VPNs, Security Profiles) Knowledge of why/when to firewall or segment traffic and the implications for business operations. Experience creating and executing remediation and improvement plans. Familiarity with monitoring tools, logging, and alerting systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications such as Palo Alto PCNSE, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE4+, or equivalent. Experience in multi-vendor environments. Prior consulting or client-facing experience.
