Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Migration Orchestration Engineer to support a network modernization project for U.S. Army remotely out of Ft. Huachuca in Sierra Vista, AZ. The team is seeking a skilled network engineer and system integration expert to support the transformation of a critical wide area network infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SR. NETWORK MIGRATION ENGINEER:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years (additional directly related experience may substitute for a degree).

  • Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) or equivalent is required prior to start.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure for deploying network monitoring and management solutions.
  • Proficient in the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), including data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization.
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Proven experience with event management, SNMP v3, and performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Kafka and LiveAction tools.
  • Skilled in virtualization platforms such as VMware or KVM.
  • Experience with enterprise network management tools such as Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, or Junos Space.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure hardening practices, including implementation of DoD STIGs.
  • Strong team player with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues collaboratively.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain secure, centralized enterprise network solutions for the U.S. Army.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to assess legacy network environments, including routing, configurations, and requirements, to support the migration of the Army’s global wide-area network.
  • Evaluate and apply network monitoring and management tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Assist in modernizing network monitoring by developing dashboards, visualizations, and data ingestion pipelines from legacy devices into the AGUN platform.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of virtualization and containerization infrastructure to support network management and monitoring tools.
  • Gather and analyze performance data to identify strategies for network optimization and resource management, ensuring alignment with capacity and performance benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with information assurance teams and the AGUN Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) to ensure compliance with DoD standards and facilitate integration of monitoring data into a SIEM.
