Sanmina Turtle Lake, Wisconsin is a full-service plastic injection molding, electronics integration and design service facility. This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems, related processes and tooling is highly desired
  • Knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and automation
  • Sound understanding of injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment and tooling
  • Ability to create, foster, and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Skilled at Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving
  • Self-starter motivated to implement positive change to our NPI and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to provide input and alternatives during part design reviews that improve manufacturability

OTHER EXPERIENCES THAT WE VALUE:

  • Programming/troubleshooting experience with automation controls such as PLC’s, HMI’s, Servo’s, and vision inspection systems
  • 3D design software (Solid Works) skills and experience
  • Project Management skills and experience
  • Lean Manufacturing skills and experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer five to seven years of experience with hands-on injection and compression molding of thermoset and thermoplastic materials
  • Experience working as a member of an NPI customer focused team
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes (qualification or validation) and their associated documentation
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred, working knowledge of the DMAIC process is a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Required (Plastics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical). Exceptional experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the technology, process development and troubleshooting of thermoset and thermoplastic injection and compression molding processes
  • Coordinate design for manufacturability (DFM) methodologies into our design reviews
  • Investigate and recommend new technologies while staying current on manufacturing methods and tool designs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage multiple process development projects with minimal supervision
  • Manage start-up, debug, and commission of new and transfer molding processes
  • Plan and conduct experimental trials utilizing designed experiments to produce capable and stable molding processes
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
  • Communicate and solve problems
  • Generate and update technical documents, reports, specifications and BOMs
  • Lead process development risk analysis (FMEA)
  • Coordinate and support pre-production build activities
  • Monitor NPI implemented processes for efficacy utilizing KPI’s
  • Provide technical support to all facets of our facility
  • Recognize, document and define qualification requirements for improvements
  • Develop a flexible process engineering team that supports our critical deadlines
  • Train and provide direction to process engineering technicians and train manufacturing technicians as part of a qualification
