Description

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
  • Professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, or newer.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Solid understanding of performance tuning, query optimization, and index strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure SQL databases and patch/update procedures.
  • Familiarity with other database platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB is a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., T-SQL, PowerShell) for maintenance and automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across infrastructure layers.
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) is required.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances (2016, 2017, 2019 or higher).
  • Monitor database performance, analyze resource utilization, and optimize SQL queries.
  • Design and implement high availability solutions such as Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, and Always On Availability Groups.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and support disaster recovery processes.
  • Apply patches and updates to SQL Server and Azure SQL instances, ensuring security and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the database stack, including software, hardware, OS, and network layers.
  • Implement database security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Support application development teams by analyzing database requirements and optimizing database-related code.
  • Address system vulnerabilities, apply fixes, and support legacy systems.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks such as backups, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive documentation related to configurations, procedures, and issue resolution.
  • Provide monthly reports on work progress and database health.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to ensure database reliability, scalability, and performance.
