Description:
Our client is a pre-eminent law firm specializing in aviation accident Law. They are seeking a Senior Paralegal to join their team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, PC.
- Manage E-discovery platforms and work with various databases and a variety of on-line technology.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to navigate both State and Federal Court Systems, including identification of local rules.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner. Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent and flexible.
- Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment. Excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency with NYSCEF, PACER,WESTLASW a must.

Responsibilities:
- Assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings.
- Paralegals also assist with case planning, development, document management, legal research, interviewing clients, gathering facts, retrieving information, drafting and analyzing legal documents. Essential Functions The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
o Communicates with attorneys, clients, experts, opposing counsel and court personnel clearly and effectively in person and in writing.
o Drafts legal documents, formal discovery requests, notices, responses, document productions and summarize depositions.
o Keeps track of work progress and navigates all phases of litigation.
o Requests documents from various private and public institutions, including SSA, FAA and clients.
o Digital dexterity to assemble, retrieve and replace files and other electronically stored data.
o Maintain client relationships, schedule meetings, arrange interviews, follow up with client request and retrieve information; prepare documents for expert’s review.
o Conduct legal research including statutory and case law, draft forms, prepare and manage exhibits. • Prepare for and attend mediations, arbitrations and trial as needed.
o Draft damages brochures, presentations and compiles photograph collages for brochures and presentations. • Electronically files pleadings, briefs, motions, notices, affidavits and related exhibits in both State and Federal Cort.
