SR. PM DATA & ANALYTICS:

On behalf of our utilities client, Procom is searching for a Senior Project Manager for a contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary or Edmonton office.

SR. PM DATA & ANALYTICS - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Project Manager will lead and coordinate data-driven projects within the Data and Analytics team. This role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and effective resource management. The focus is on managing projects related to Data Lakehouse and Data Lakes, utilizing Agile methodologies.

SR. PM DATA & ANALYTICS - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Proven ability to lead data projects, particularly Data Lakehouse and Data Lakes.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology.
  • Strong vendor coordination and contract oversight skills.
  • Budget management experience with emphasis on financial controls.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

SR. PM DATA & ANALYTICS – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or Oracle Cloud.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with machine learning models and AI-driven analytics.
  • PMP certification.
Responsibilities
  • Lead data projects from initiation through execution to closure.
  • Develop project charters, risk registers, escalation plans, and quality deliverables plans.
  • Manage project budgets ranging from $300K to $4.5M with an emphasis on financial controls.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams and oversee vendor management, including offshore and third-party teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including executive steering committees and business SMEs, to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
