Description
Provide sketches, markups, and directions to electrical designers to develop project drawings. Prepare customer Submittals, Sequence of Operations (SOO) and test procedures. Create, modify, test and deploy software for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for Power Transfer applications like Main-Tie-Main, Main-Gen, Main-Tie-Main-Gen and Paralleling Switchgears. Follow customer specifications and internal specifications for project implementation. Select components and create Bill of Materials. Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required. Write and deploy complex power and control schemes including load shedding/peak shaving schemes utilize multiple distributed energy resources, Microgrid operations, breaker control schemes, SCADA system development. Ensure projects have proper controls, metering and monitoring; controls include Power Meters, automation equipment (PLC/HMI), protective relays, load sharing, synchronization etc. Position is fixed location based in Pleasanton, CA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed up to three (3) days per week. 25% domestic and international travel is required for site visits. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any) or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience as a Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer or related occupation leading power systems control. Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Designing Electrical Schematic Drawings Implementing Design of Automation Systems Troubleshooting, testing and repairing techniques including point to point testing, interpreting schematics, interpreting wiring diagrams, programming traps and simulation routines. Working on Control systems and associated protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet IP, DNP3 or IEC61850 Experience with Automation systems/services, including working on custom automation solutions as per design specification.
