Description

Key words: Design, Drawing, Checker, Analysis, Product, Definition, Engineer, Tolerance, Stack, 2D, 3D, CAD, NX, Unigraphics, Redline, AerospaceNote: Must have previous Pratt and Whitney or Collins Aerospace experience. Strongly prefer 10 years+ experience.
This is considered a fully remote position, meaning this role can be worked from a home office. The expected duration of this role is 6 months to start, with potential to be extended and grown.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 10+ year(s) of relevant experience in the aerospace industry
  • Direct experience acting as a Design Checker or Sr. Design Lead
  • Extensive experience working with NX software
  • Experience working with Teamcenter or other PLM software
  • Expertise in GD&T standards and best practices
  • Outstanding communication and technical writing skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices
  • Experience writing or creating standard work, establishing processes, and documenting lessons learned.

    Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Check documentation of fabricated items, diagrams, Source Control Drawings (SCD’s), and assemblies to ensure conformance to design documentation for new documentation or revisions to existing documentation and data.
  • Review Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and design data supplied by engineering.
  • Review fit, form, and function of drawings for consistency
  • Recommend changes to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Perform tolerance stack analyses as needed
  • Work with engineering teams to resolve drawing and design discrepancies.
  • Redline drawings as needed
  • Provide training to improve overall drafting quality and consistency.
  • Reviewing material requirements for standardization and conformance to industry specification manuals.
  • Support the generation of status reports and provide progress updates to project stakeholders
  • Follow all required standard work, and adhere to all compliance and regulation requirements
