Description

Join Mold Masters as a Senior Product Development Engineer in Machine Design, where you will be at the forefront of creating innovative, high-performance machinery for our E-Multi product line. In this role, you will lead the entire product development process-from initial concept and detailed design to prototype testing and final product launch-driving the creation of reliable, cost-effective systems that set new standards in the industry. As a key member of our dynamic team, you’ll work on sophisticated industrial machines for a global market, contributing to solutions that help industries operate more sustainably and efficiently. If you’re a creative, results-driven engineer eager to make an impact in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.

Work You’ll Do:

  • Execute complete design solutions for new machines and systems within the E-Multi product line, applying sound engineering practices.
  • Develop performance specifications and sales targets for new machine concepts.
  • Monitor project metrics, including product cost, schedule, and scope, and proactively manage risks to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead small, multidisciplinary design teams in system-level innovation and product development.
  • Create concept layouts, 3D models, and detailed drawings for reliable, cost-efficient designs aligned with project and customer requirements.
  • Generate assembly drawings and BOMs for SAP release, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Read, interpret, and create complex engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models to support manufacturing and assembly.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, risk assessments, and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) evaluations to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
  • Develop validation plans, testing protocols, and technical documentation to support prototypes and new product certification.
  • Lead prototype assembly and testing activities, providing technical updates, reports, and presentations to teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with sales and application teams to evaluate customer needs and recommend tailored solutions, supporting application sizing and feasibility discussions.
  • Review existing patents, drawings, and technical documentation, supporting patent applications and innovations.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
  • Engage with customers, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring all designs and solutions align with industry standards and client expectations.

Team:

  • You will be an integral member of Mold Masters’ high-performance E-Multi product development team, a recognized leader in all-electric, servo-driven auxiliary injection units. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineers, manufacturing, and sales teams, your expertise will directly influence the design, development, and refinement of the E-Multi platform-today’s most versatile and reliable auxiliary injection solution. Your contributions will help reinforce our commitment to delivering innovative, energy-efficient solutions that optimize manufacturing efficiency and ensure long-term customer success in diverse industrial environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • University degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • 10-12 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing industrial machinery.
  • Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, CA.
  • Expert in SolidWorks 2023 or higher, with strong modeling and detailed drawing skills.
  • Deep knowledge of ASME Y14.5M standards, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience designing large-scale, automated machinery such as robotics, presses, CNC systems, or packaging lines.
  • Strong component selection skills, including gearboxes, bearings, servo motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Proven success in leading small design teams and projects, delivering on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced FEA knowledge (preferably ANSYS).
