REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Apparel and accessory product (merchandising, buying, selling, development)
  • Bachelor’s degree, Business administration or Retail Merchandising preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop. Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • An in-depth knowledge of market, trends, innovation, competition, and product details.
  • Previous PLM system experience preferred.
  • Strong Product/Design aesthetic/high taste level.
  • Experience in surf culture and a deep understanding of the market.
  • Strong business, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset for identifying risks, opportunities, and strong retail math skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE…

The primary role of this position is to grow sales within the North American region while maximizing profitability for the Women’s & Kid’s divisions. The role requires executing the global Rip Curl strategy, leading North American product initiatives, and supporting various sales channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute global strategy and act as a North American expert.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to enhance Rip Curl’s market position.
  • Develop seasonal range briefs and oversee regional product selection.
  • Plan and execute the North America regional go-to-market strategy.
  • Align and help execute the North American wholesale, retail, and eCommerce sales strategies.
  • Support key accounts with sales initiatives and SMU/Destination requests.
  • Monitor sales, profit, inventory, and purchasing strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to the global Range Development Cycle and planning processes.
  • Oversee expense management and optimize financial performance.
  • Lead crew training, development, and succession planning.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintenance of all product data (cost sheets, product information etc).
  • Drive sustainability initiatives and support innovation efforts.
  • Uphold Rip Curl’s company values and foster a performance-based culture.
