If you are seeking a career that will challenge, inspire, and reward you, join us at UBC!  Job Title:  PSD04K-Sr Product Owner, AI Solutions     Brief Description:    UBC is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Product Owner, AI Solutions, to lead and expand the integration of artificial intelligence technologies across all UBC service lines, including Patient Access, Safety & Risk Management, and Evidence Development. This senior role drives UBC’s AI vision and roadmap, ensuring that AI-enabled products deliver measurable business outcomes, competitive differentiation, and improved patient impact.   The Senior Product Owner acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, executive leadership, data science, engineering, and external partners. This leader is accountable for maximizing the value of UBC’s AI portfolio, championing innovation while ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.   Specific job duties:   * Define, communicate, and continuously refine the enterprise-wide AI product vision and roadmap aligned with UBC’s strategic goals. * Identify high-impact opportunities for AI in areas such as predictive analytics, natural language processing, real-world evidence generation, pharmacovigilance automation, patient engagement, and operational optimization. * Serve as a thought leader in AI strategy, representing UBC at industry forums, client engagements, and innovation initiatives. * Own and prioritize a multi-solution AI product portfolio backlog, balancing near-term deliverables with long-term innovation. * Collaborate with business leaders and other Product Owners from Patient Access, Safety & Risk Management, Evidence Development, and other departments to gather requirements and co-develop AI use cases. * Ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and regulatory-compliant (HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11). * Own and manage a centralized AI solution backlog, prioritizing features based on business value, technical feasibility, and regulatory considerations. * Translate strategic AI goals into detailed user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria for Agile development teams. * Partner with data science, engineering, and platform teams to ensure effective model deployment, monitoring, and iteration. * Drive ethical and responsible AI practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory, compliance, and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). * Monitor trends and advancements in AI, healthcare technology, and digital health to maintain a forward-looking strategy. * Collaborate with external vendors and academic or industry partners to integrate best-in-class AI tools and platforms. * Support client pitches, innovation initiatives, and cross-functional workshops that advance UBC’s AI capabilities and strategic partnerships.     Supervisory Responsibility:   None     Desired Skills and Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, life sciences, business, or a related field (Master’s or technical specialization in AI/ML preferred). * 8+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role, with at least 4+ years working with AI/ML-driven products or platforms. * Strong understanding of AI methodologies (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision) and their application in healthcare or life sciences. * Experience delivering digital or data-centric products in regulated environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, clinical trials, or healthcare technology). * Proficient in Agile development practices with a track record of launching scalable AI solutions. * Experience with backlog management and user story writing. * Excellent skills in translating complex business needs into clear product requirements and user stories. * Familiarity with cloud data platforms, model lifecycle management, and AI governance frameworks. * Ability to make difficult product decisions and prioritize features based on business value. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain AI concepts to non-technical audiences. * Customer-focused, innovative, and highly collaborative. * Passionate about delivering high-quality software products * Customer-focused mindset and collaborative team player * Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities and requirements * Excellent time management and organizational skills
