Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field. Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience, two (2) of which must be related to civil engineering design and construction projects and/or infrastructure design/review of private development projects Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment. Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and great verbal and written communication skills. At least three (3) years of experience in bridge design, construction, or rehabilitation Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and bridge inspection or bridge asset management experience. The Sr. Professional Engineer – Bridges job responsibilities include: Perform design and construction project management and professional civil engineering work including design, construction inspection, contract administration and construction plan and specification review of bridge rehabilitation projects of varying scope and complexity under one or more funding programs in a fast-paced environment. Work independently to perform project management and professional civil engineering work to deliver multiple simultaneous bridge rehabilitation projects while coordinating with a variety of stakeholders to deliver projects within budget and on schedule within very tight time constraints. Develop a bridge asset management plan to strategize the rehabilitation of City bridges over a five-year period. Review designs and detailed drawings of bridges, retaining walls, and related structures prepared by consultants. Provide specifications, estimating, quantity calculations, and other construction documents to advertise and bid projects. Review and approve payment requests and perform other tasks as needed while utilizing City of Fort Worth software/systems and processes. Provide direct support to the Engineering Manager and assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals and objectives and make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures. Communicating proactively about projects with City leadership, stakeholders in other City departments, residents of the City of Fort Worth and state and federal agencies. The Sr. Professional Engineer - Bridges will perform design and construction project management for bridge rehabilitation projects. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
