JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Engineer at AEVEX is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical execution of engineering projects from conception to completion. They lead a team of engineers and technicians in the development of hardware solutions and integrated systems for DoD customers in a rapid development environment.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years of relevant experience leading teams in the development of complex electro-mechanical and software systems.
  • Developing and tailoring product development and engineering processes based on program cost, schedule, and risk tolerance
  • Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards in a design and manufacturing environment
  • Experienced with JIRA, Microsoft Project and Agile methodologies
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for leading a team of engineers and contractors to ensure a total technical solution is within scope, budget and being delivered to the customer on time
  • Accountable for managing all aspects of product design, production, testing and support.
  • Provides Interface between Program Management, Design and Production team
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and management of AS9100 design and development processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Accountable for managing and documenting system and subsystem level requirements and interfaces in coordination with suppliers and design team. Responsible for verification of the ‘as designed’ solution to those requirements.
  • Responsible for managing system and subsystem interfaces and translation of those requirements across a multi-disciplinary team which they manage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
