Description

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in mechanical automation, part handling, manufacturing and project management.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to guide the design, specify, and review detailed drawings for mechanical material handling systems, Induction tooling and components: Machine bases, actuators, pneumatics, sensors, geared actuators, servos, cams, bearings, pumps, heat exchangers, water-containment systems, induction coils, bus bars, guarding, etc.
  • Utilize technical data (i.e. Machinery’s handbook, internet, vendor catalogs, etc.) to create robust designs.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of Engineers on various projects
  • Knowledge of production techniques including Machining, Fabricating, Welding, Assembly, 3D printing
  • Generate and update technical drawings using standard design conventions, tolerance, and technical drawing standards as required.
  • Collaborate with Radyne Engineering and Manufacturing personnel in developing improvements in tooling, manufacturing methods, machining, and material usage.
  • Creativity in how work assignments are completed and use of discretion and independent judgment required.
  • Write specifications for subcontractor quotation, inspection/runoff requirements and manage to ensure on time and budget performance.
  • Address any problems encountered in the fabrication and construction of experimental or production machines.
  • Detail and check part drawings, process ECO’s, and create/maintain BOM’s.
  • Assist in the assembly and troubleshooting of systems if needed, to help achieve goals set by project timeline. Completes projects on time and within budget.
  • Working under the guidance of the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Engineering - emphasis on mechanical.
Proficiency in Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling.
Knowledge of production techniques including Machining, Fabricating, Welding, Assembly a plus.
Knowledge of screws, threads, materials, strength of materials, correct fit, and a wide knowledge of various fabrication techniques.
Must have good technical writing and oral communication skills.
Robotics Experience a plus.
Experience with Adept PDM and AutoCAD a plus.
