This position is responsible for evaluating, planning, justifying, coordinating, and following up on projects that focus on production growth and/or projects that optimize existing production and packaging lines. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include. · Develops project costing for budget review and approval. · Prepares P&IDs, layouts, production time schedules, technical descriptions, function descriptions, value calculations, and selects appropriate bids, equipment, vendors, and sub-contractors. · Ensures activities and projects are started and completed within the set timetable. · Maintains accurate and up to date project files and drawings. · Identifies and corrects safety, ergonomic, and operational problems through proper design of equipment. · Promotes inter-plant communication and provides technical support on an as-needed basis. · Develops and distributes a monthly progress and project status report. · Follows up with facility team leaders on continuous cost reduction and process improvement ideas. · Displays a broad knowledge in dairy, equipment, and processes and continually updates knowledge to stay current on developments. · Performs design work including researching data, conducting feasibility, and economic studies, and determining design criteria in accordance with required standards for assigned projects. · Reads, analyzes, and interprets a variety of instructions, manuals, and procedures in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form. · Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely, and professional manner (phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meetings). · Travel and / or extended or off work hours may be required. · This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions, it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Experience: · 3 -5 years’ experience in an engineering project manager role · Dairy or other food-related experience preferred · Broad level of experience in managing complex projects and installations.
