Sr. Project Manager – IT Category/Level*:

Under the direction of the IT PMO Manager; project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. This position requires technical aptitude and project management discipline experience Information Technology software implementation, Training, Process development, and SharePoint Management. Essential Functions:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Support the development of the IT PMO process and project template development.
- Manage IT PMO SharePoint Site. Deliverables:
Project Leadership and Decision-Making:
- Drive project leadership following the Sound Transit project management framework, guidelines, documentation, and tools.
- Make real-time decisions based on established guidelines and communication disciplines.
Coordination:
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the development of project-related artifacts.
- Develop and manage project communication plans.
- Develop and manage project training plans and documents.
Project Delivery:
- Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining quality.
Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with all stakeholders to understand specific project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and staff members.
Technical Project Leadership:
- Lead projects involving a mix of technical domains such as computer systems, applications, infrastructure, networks, hardware, software solutions, databases, middleware, SaaS solutions, and internet/intranet sites.
Project Scope Definition and Changes:
- Facilitate working sessions to define project scope and objectives with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using the Sound Transit ServiceNow Project Management module.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Track project performance and analyze successful completion of short and long-term.
- Provide regular updates, ranging from weekly to monthly, on project status goals using the Sound Transit ServiceNow Project Management module and following the IT PMO reporting cadence.
- Brief executive audiences confidently and provide reports and information for proactive decision-making.
- Report and escalate issues to IT leadership as needed.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, information technology, business management, information systems, or closely related field and eight years of experience in information technology project delivery or project management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Specific Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
5 or more years as a Project Manager Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work will be performed via a remote office.
