GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our Transportation team in Toronto, ON. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU’LL BE CHALLENGED TO DO:

As a Sr. Project Manager with GFT’s Transportation Practice in Toronto, you’ll be a key contributor to multidisciplinary teams focused on the planning and design of modern roadway and highway infrastructure. Your work will support transformative projects that enhance mobility, sustainability, and safety within communities.

IN THIS CAPACITY, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • Act as a project manager or team lead for relevant projects, tasks, and other assignments for municipal, provincial & transit clients in Ontario.
  • Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Proactively manage scope creep and negotiate change orders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and updates proactively.
  • Maintain a close and efficient working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of technical quality on the projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Prepare project progress reports to clients and internal senior management.
  • Mentor project staff and participate in hiring processes.
  • Provide effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations within the roads and highways team.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvement, proposing initiatives that could enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in the company’s strategic planning, providing insights on how project outcomes align with business objectives.
  • Assist in business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities and leading proposal preparation.
