Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor (Sr QS) with expertise in civil engineering contracting to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), the Sr QS will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying, cost management, and contract administration on civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the contracting sector, with the ability to manage project costs, budgets, and valuations while ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
Administer and manage contracts, including reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contract terms. Ensure all project contracts are compliant with legal requirements and company policies.
- Tendering and Procurement
Lead the preparation of tender submissions, liaising with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring the procurement process is conducted efficiently and cost-effectively.Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle, identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing potential budget overruns. Provide regular cost reports to the GM and project team.Assess, value, and manage variations in the scope of work, ensuring changes are properly documented and billed according to contractual agreements.Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, measure work completed, and assess value for work done. Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.Identify and mitigate financial risks on projects, advising the GM and project team on strategies to minimize cost overruns and delays.Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and other team members. Collaborate closely with the project management, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure project success.Provide regular progress reports, cost analyses, and financial forecasts to the GM. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial matters related to the project.Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and resolution of any cost-related issues.Qualifications & Experience:

- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS) will be an advantage.
- Experience
Extensive experience working on large-scale civil projects (e.g., infrastructure, roads, bridges, utilities, etc.) is essential.Strong background in managing contracts for civil engineering projects, including experience with various forms of contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, NEC, etc.).
