Description:

The Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the drug product process development group located in a modern state-of-the-art facility called the Moderna Technology Center (MTC). This new renovated center of excellence houses a wide variety of disciplines, which includes process development, scale-up, and analytical development. The role reports to a Scientist and is a multidiscipline position that involves investigating lipid nanoparticle process development with established and novel analytical techniques. The individual in this role will be a highly skilled, talented, and motivated associate. He/she will participate in performing biochemical and biophysical characterization (HPLC, cIEF, light scattering, particle characterization, spectroscopy, calorimetry) of lipid nanoparticles Pertinent experience involves developing and performing analytical, molecular, biochemical, biophysical and/or cellular assays. Prior industry experience in formulation or analytical development is desired.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Develop novel chemical and biophysical assays to support the process development of Lipid Nanoparticles
Optimize and prequalify analytical techniques to characterize lipid nanoparticles to support process development and formulation design
Collaborate with internal groups in chemistry, formulations, delivery, drug substance analytical and in-vitro biology
Manage sample requests and data reporting within a digitally-integrated workflow
Present updates on research and development findings internally in a timely fashion
Perform analytical testing supporting process development and product release, including spectroscopic, chromatographic, biophysical, and molecular biology techniques
Perform data analysis and trending
Maintain thorough electronic lab notebooks and documentation records
Present results in cross-functional meetings
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Experience: 2 Years of industry or relevant academic experience
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Effective communication skills and the ability to write detailed technical reports
Strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to support colleagues in Research, AD, CMC, Manufacturing and Process Development
Experience in nucleic acid drug development (e.g. DNA, RNA, oligonucleotides)
Familiarity with chromatographic techniques for characterizing nanoparticles (e.g. SEC/FFF-MALS, IEX, RP, HIC)
Experience with various biophysical and light scattering techniques (e.g. DLS, NTA, Coulter Counter, laser diffraction, microscopy)
Statistical knowledge and proficiency with data visualization/analysis/modeling software (e.g. GraphPad, Microsoft Excel, JMP, TIBCO Spotfire)
