Description

We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and highly motivated chemist in organic chemistry to fill a position of Senior Scientist in our Reagent Development Group. The successful candidate will be bringing a strong expertise in synthesizing fluorescent dyes to develop new reagents for multicolor flow cytometry assays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design, develop, optimize, and synthesize new fluorescent dyes, including polymer dyes. * Identify new fluorescent dyes on the market suitable for expanding cFluor fluorophore portfolio. * Develop new reagent products by conjugating antibodies to different types of fluorescent dyes, including small molecule dye, protein tandem dyes and StarBright dyes. * Perform routine analysis, purification and characterization of dyes and reagents using chromatographic spectrophotometer, HPLC, FPLC, fluorometer, LC/MS, NMR and other analytic instruments. * Maintain good and timely documentation of experiments. * All other tasks and duties assigned as perceived and agreed upon by management. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: * A PhD degree in Organic Chemistry. * At least 5 years of experience in synthesizing polymer fluorescent dyes is preferred. * Experience of working in a regulated environment such as GLP/GMP environment. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team of scientists. * Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Individuals will be required to lift 25lbs without harm, be able to work in a standing position for an hour at a time and be able to position their body without additional support to obtain access to the materials in the lab.
