Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Sales Account Manager to join our dynamic Service Sales Team at Waters in The Netherlands. In this role, you will be instrumental in maximizing our customers’ laboratory productivity and operations. You’ll thrive in a collaborative and innovative work environment, where your contributions will directly impact our success.
The successful candidate will excel in strong account management, ensuring the retention and growth of our client base. By leading proactive roundtable discussions, you’ll uncover and address real customer needs, all while striving to achieve the sales targets for your designated territory.
Responsibilities:

  • Territory Health Management:

    • Ensure timely renewals of hardware and software coverage plans.


    • Approach new and existing customers, conduct customer visits, and organize roundtable discussions to review our service delivery and opportunities for growth.



      • Formulate and execute effective business plans.



        • Assess year-to-date figures, and respond to inbound service on demand requests.

        • Cross-Department Management:


          • Collaborate with various support groups (e.g., Instrument Sales, Chemistry Operations, Informatics, Marketing, Order Entry) and work closely with Service Managers, Expert Center and Engineers.



            • Manage the plan product mix, upgrades, customer education, professional services, and pricing to meet targets.



              • Monitor customer asset lifecycle and Waters support status and collaborate with the sales team to initiate and recommend system replacements.

              • Strong administrative skills:


                • Use and update the customer relationship management system, update customer contact information, and provide a comprehensive view of customer interactions.



                  • Proper use of the service plan quotation system, and other relevant systems.



                    • Maintain and update the iBase database for easier and faster renewals.



                      • Assist with tenders and the legal review of Service Level Agreements and Master Service Agreements, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulations.

                        Being a Service Sales Account Manager involves travel throughout The Netherlands and offers great flexibility in managing accounts and fieldwork.

                        This is a great opportunity to have visibility across a mix of customers operating in different markets (Waters Division, Waters Biologics Business Unit and Water Clinical Business Unit) and a great opportunity to learn loads along the way. There are multiple avenues to grow further in Waters both within the role and beyond depending on what you would like to do - this could be within systems sales, marketing or in one of our more technical positions.

                        Qualifications:

                        The successful candidate is based in The Netherlands and likely to have the following competencies:


                      • Education:


                        • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

                        • Work Experience:


                          • Preferred experience in sales, marketing, or customer support.



                            • Technical and practical solution selling experience, ideally in the HPLC/MS field.



                              • Experience in a laboratory setting, with a background in chromatography and mass spectrometry.

                              • Competencies Required:


                                • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.



                                  • Analytical Thinking: Capable of analysing data to identify sales opportunities and trends.



                                    • Problem-Solving Abilities: Able to troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions.



                                      • Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively within a team to achieve common goals.



                                        • Language Proficiency: Fluency in Dutch and English is required; proficiency in French is an advantage.



                                          • Motivation and Drive: Highly motivated individual with charisma, perseverance, and the ability to work effectively in pressurized sales situations.



                                            • Customer Focus: Excellent listening skills and a customer-centric approach.



                                              • Technical Communication: Ability to understand and communicate complex technical and commercial values.



                                                • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills with a positive sense of humor, and a strong team player prepared to work as part of an integrated sales/service organization.



                                                  • Organizational Skills: Good priority setting and organizational skills.



                                                    • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of computers and the use of standard Windows-based packages and SalesForce (knowledge of a Waters chromatography or mass spectrometry data system would be desirable).
