SUMMARY:

Motion Mechanical Technicians provide the highest levels of mechanical service and product repair to meet the needs of our customers and keep their industry in motion. REQUIREMENTS

The job requires a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work well with others. Although not required, experience in industrial gear reducer repair is a plus. The job can be physically demanding at times and may require some standing, climbing and heavy lifting. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. A Valid Driver’s License with good driving record is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five (5) years of shop experience or an equivalent combination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities would include utilizing a range of precision hand tools and hydraulic presses to disassemble industrial gear reducers, meticulously inspect internal components and critical tolerances to determine the root cause failure analysis, document findings on an inspection report, and rebuilding the reducer to “like new” condition.

JOB DUTIES

  • Performs maintenance on assigned customer products that come through the service shop.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and inspects system components for repair.
  • Prepares job form listing parts and works necessary to perform the repair.
  • Designs, fabricates, machines, and welds parts and components.
  • Repairs hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. and other related items.
  • Tests repaired equipment for performance and prepares for shipment or long-term storage.
  • Assist customers by answering specific technical questions to help the customer understand the work to be done.
  • Responds to customer inquires regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry. Due to experience & training, may handle more challenging inquires.
  • Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business by relating to the customer and drive process improvements.
  • Assists less experienced Service Technicians with addressing customer needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
