QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years designing test plans, test cases, and writing automated tests.
  • Experience with CI systems and test case management tools.
  • Hands-on with modern programming/scripting languages (C#, Python, JS/TS).
  • Proficiency with frameworks such as Nunit, MSTest, Xunit, Jest, Puppeteer, Mocha, PyTest, Unittest, Specflow, Selenium, or Gherkin.
  • Solid understanding of unit, integration, and performance testing.
  • Experience using Git and performing code reviews via Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.
  • Understanding of relational database structures and ability to write SQL queries.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and designing automation frameworks across multiple platforms.
  • Security automation framework experience.
  • Financial services industry knowledge.
  • Excitement about testing excellence and mentoring others.
  • Experience with test data management, observability tools, or standing up a Testing CoE.
Responsibilities
  • Champion Testing Best Practices:Own and lead testing strategy design across teams, with a focus on automation, performance, security, and accessibility testing.
  • Build Scalable Test Frameworks:Design and implement robust testing frameworks and tools that can support multiple teams and applications across the org.
  • Integrate with CI/CD Pipelines:Ensure automated tests run consistently within our CI environment. Drive reliability and speed through tooling integration.
  • Collaborate Across the Org:Partner with developers, architects, analysts, and product owners across verticals like Digital, Core Banking, and more.
  • Mentor and Guide:Provide code and test reviews, offer guidance, and mentor junior SDETs to build a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Analyze and Improve:Investigate production issues, identify test gaps, and lead efforts to improve quality and stability through systemic fixes.
  • Lead Testing Roadmaps:Help define the vision for BECU’s Testing CoE, and drive the execution of our roadmap to uplift our testing maturity.
  • Be the SME and Go-To:Act as the subject matter expert for testing frameworks. Troubleshoot tool adoption issues and remove roadblocks for teams.
  • Test Data Management & Metrics:Own synthetic data generation processes and develop reporting on org-wide testing health and performance.
