Who we are looking for DataPath’s MaxView Enterprise Network Management System is a powerful software solution that enables our customers to see the state of their entire network, control multi-vendor devices, automate complex service tasks and unify disparate systems into one view. This position is for a software engineer to join the software delivery team, responsible for all customer facing MaxView engagements. A successful candidate will be passionate about software development, committed to high quality software, and constantly strive to learn new technologies and techniques. This position requires general programming experience, an understanding of network communications, device communications, and some experience with user interface development. The engineer will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Primary functions will include supporting the requirements, design, development, integration, and testing phases of projects as well as post-delivery support. MaxView customers are located around the world and this position will present the opportunity for occasional travel. What you will do Gain and apply knowledge: Product domain, Requirements, Design, Development, Test and Release software processes, and tools with emphasis on software design, development. Develop understanding of how to follow the appropriate DataPath software processes. Design, code, integrate, regression testing, test and document software of limited to moderate complexity such as, software trouble tickets, change requests, software components, and software test scripts. Gain experience in software debugging techniques and tools. Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems of limited to moderate complexity. Work with internal and external customers to gather technical requirements. Design and develop device drivers, automation, and user interfaces. Integrate and test project deliverables in factory and on-site at customer locations. Develop internal and customer-facing documentation. Support Software development environment toolset including the source code repository, automated build servers and virtual machine servers. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field with at least 5 years of experience. In the absence of a degree, 3 years of work experience with a proven track record of solid software development can be substituted. Must have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Permanent Resident or US Citizenship is required. Prefer experience with serial communications, including cabling and troubleshooting. Prefer experience with network communications, including SNMP and troubleshooting. Prefer domain experience with Internet of Things or Command and Control platforms. Prefer domain experience with satellite communications. Additional Qualifications Experience with scripting languages, preferably with JavaScript, Tcl and Groovy. Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience with DBMS concepts and MySQL, PostgreSQL. Experience with Java, HTML5, OSGI, Eclipse, Subversion, Maven. Able to provide a general analysis of a problem or situation. Consistently creates high-quality results and is detail oriented. Able to work alone with minimal supervision, being self-driven with a desire to add value to an energetic team. Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Possess an outgoing personality and a team-first attitude. Courage to independently seek out solutions to challenges.
