Job Summary:
SHI is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical role of Sr. Specialist - ESG Programs to drive development and facilitation of SHI’s Decarbonization Plan across SHI’s global operations, as well as carbon and environmental reporting. This new role reports to the Associate Director, ESG Programs in the broader Business Assurance team. This individual will work closely with SHI’s Operations team in the US, UK and other international locations, as well as external technology and services providers. This role is expected to help SHI achieve its corporate sustainability goals and comply with regulatory and voluntary disclosure requirements.
This position will be reporting to the SHI Somerset NJ location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities:
Include, but not limited to:
- Decarbonization: Working in partnership with the Operations and IT teams, proactively develop and facilitate pragmatic transition plans in relation to energy consumption at offices, warehouses and data centers, as well as waste/packaging, e-waste, water and business travel management
- Reporting: Conduct annual GHG emissions inventory and prepare high-quality regulatory and voluntary disclosures on climate and the environment (water, waste, packaging, etc.), including completion of assessments for CDP and EcoVadis
- Assurance: Advance internal control environment for ESG metrics, and act as the lead to support various audits.
- Stakeholder engagement: Engage internal stakeholders at different levels in decarbonization planning, contribute to customer and supplier requests and knowledge exchange activities, identify and oversight of external consultants supporting SHI’s objectives
- Bringing the outside in: Proactively monitor evolution in the external sustainability environment, identify and explore new technologies that could be applicable to SHI, benchmark the company against peers and partners, prepare executive briefings and coach junior analysts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Environmental Management or equivalent work experience with a technology management focus
- 5+ years’ experience in energy management, environmental management, climate and sustainability, or ESG, with individual responsibility for deliverables
Required Skills:
- Understanding and experience in deployment of new technologies in buildings, warehouses or data centers, including ability to build holistic business cases (feasibility, carbon reduction and .economics), develop and oversee implementation plans on the ground
- Experience in GHG emissions accounting (scopes 1, 2, 3), ESG data collection and consolidation, internal controls and report writing
- Highly organized and results-oriented with demonstrated experience in managing large datasets, deployment of technology innovations, presenting ideas to stakeholders at different levels
- Business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset and ‘can do’ attitude, strong business problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, leadership, and project management skills
- Self-driven individual with an ability to identify pragmatic solutions, get stakeholders onboard and drive change on the ground, while being mindful of corporate priorities and external requirements
- Work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines

Unique Requirements:
- Position requires up to 10% travel to visit SHI offices and Integration centers in NJ
Additional Information:
- The estimated annual pay range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
