JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Staff Consultant in Risk Advisory Services offers internal audit, internal controls, compliance and risk management consulting with a pivotal role in assisting the Senior Consultant in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within client organizations. The position works closely with the Senior Consultant to understand the client’s unique business environments, operational processes, and regulatory requirements, offering tailored solutions to enhance client risk management practices. This position requires a strong understanding of risk management principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate concepts effectively.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Handles basic tasks and projects within discipline/ function
  • Performs risk assessments, develops work plans and project approaches, develops project budgets while ensuring quality objectives are met, and teams collaborate to support day-to-day execution of developed work plans
  • Performs assessments of business process and IT general controls
  • Utilizes communication and negotiation skills, effectively communicating ideas and issues with teams and clients
  • Recognizes complex technical issues, evaluates facts efficiently, and uses strategic decision-making skills to assist management in solving problems
  • Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge effectively through written and verbal communication
  • Follows and adheres to regulations and professional ethics of state bodies appropriate to discipline, including the IIA, ISACA, GAO, AICPA, and others
  • Assists management in planning and managing engagement activity and follows through to achieve results
  • Recognizes needs and issues pertinent to client activity and demonstrates ownership of engagement’s day-to-day tasks and activities
  • Appropriately manages risk and ensures quality control procedures are being executed
  • Builds client relationships and maintains quality working relationship
  • Responds timely and accurately to internal team and client requests
  • Remains flexible to client requests and requirements
  • Seeks new ideas and better ways of accomplishing job and company goal
  • Understands basic risk management principles such as risk, control design and operating effectiveness
  • Able to identify process inefficiencies and recommend streamlining opportunities
  • Proficient in excel to perform data analytics on various datasets
  • Leverages problem-solving skills to interpret and analyze data to draw actionable insights
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 – 3 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, technology, computer sciences or equivalent education and experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • CPA licensure or equivalent and relevant certification or working toward such licensure or relevant certification
  • Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement
  • Internal audit, internal controls, compliance or risk management or other equivalent education or experience in a similar professional public, private or nonprofit sector services environment
