Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated technical leader to drive the development of smart hardware automation solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of robotics algorithms, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for idealizing complex engineering solutions that integrate robotics, AI, mechanical, electrical, and software systems, all within a highly matrixed project execution model. Technical ownership of design and development of advanced robotics algorithms for autonomous maintenance Cobots. Help drive hardware, software, and firmware into cohesive mechatronic solutions. Validate prototypes, tests, and iterate on robotic systems and end effectors to optimize performance and reliability. Conduct system-level testing and validation, including collaboration with Hardware and Software regarding regression and unit tests. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Matrix Projects) to define system specifications and resolve complex technical challenges. Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., DOE, statistical process control) to drive design improvements. Review/Create detailed technical documentation, including schematics, CAD models, and test reports. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel. Research and apply emerging technologies in robotics, computer vision, and machine learning. We are looking for a T-shaped leader with deep expertise in robotics and a broad understanding of system engineering. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, and hands-on, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a related field. 15+ years of relevant experience; or 12 years with a Master's degree; or 8 years with a PhD. Strong background in robotics, automation, and algorithm development. Proficiency in Python, SQL, OpenCV, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Experience with MCAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks). Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work onsite in a robotics lab environment and lead cross-functional initiatives. LI-LE1 Salary CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $159,000.00 - $337,000.00. The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
