Job Description

PURPOSE & SCOPE: Jobs at this level are responsible for the review of enquiry documentation and the Scope of Work and for carrying out allocated duties related to the preparation, checking and issue of Engineering deliverables. This can include site visits and close liaison with the Drafting Office Coordinator. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives allocated duties and reviews enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work to understand what is required. Raises queries where there is lack of clarity.
  • Prepares man-hour estimates for engineering deliverables at the estimation stage, for consideration in the development of the final bid.
  • Creates drawings and document register to ensure all deliverables are accountable and completed on time.
  • Prepares specifications and data sheets.
  • Perform detailed design of static equipment.
  • Coordinates with the Drafting Office Co-ordinator for the checking and issuing of detailed drawings and shop drawings.
  • Prepares the Purchase Requisition for equipment’s components and specify inspection/ test and vendor data requirements.
  • Undertakes technical evaluations of vendor offers for the more complex items to ensure PR’s technical details are satisfied.
  • Prepares material take-offs for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
  • Provides input for the development of the Planning Package. Provides reports on project progress against the approved plans and budgets, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.
  • Reviewing and monitoring of subcontracted design and interface with other discipline.
  • Provide technical and engineering support and back-up to our site team during the construction stage.
  • Receives “as built” information from the Project Management Team, reviews content and, if satisfied, passes to drafting for production of drawings.

Skills Required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6 years static equipment design experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Supervisory Potential
  • Good understanding of specific Engineering discipline as follows: o Process; o Instrumentation and control; o Piping; o Electrical.
  • Knowledge of PVElite, Compress, APV (recommended), Autocad (basic), Microsoft Office software.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Conversant with international design/ engineering codes and standard.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Good planning and decision making skills.
