Description

We are searching for a Sr. Structural Dam Engineer to join a well-established engineering firm with locations throughout the Northeast/New England region. The firm is open to candidates local to one of their offices in the region, but is also open to remote candidates, ideally residing in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, or New England region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10-20+ years of experience in structural engineering with specific experience focused on dam and hydroelectric power facilities design and analysis, or related fields
  • PE with a desire to obtain in multiple states
  • Experience preparing and reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Progressive experience in structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, with emphasis on dams, hydraulic structures, penstocks/pipelines, retaining walls, and flood walls.
  • FERC dam safety assessment and design experience desired
  • Hydropower design experience relative to penstocks, intakes, powerhouses, and fish passage is desired

Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design for dams and hydroelectric power facilities
  • Condition assessment of concrete, steel, and earth structures.
  • Lead technical discussions with regulators and clients, as well as public meetings.
  • Development and review (QA/QC) of feasibility studies, design plans and specifications, quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates, construction sequencing plans, and permit applications.
  • Perform project management activities including planning and delegating work, managing project budgets and schedules, invoicing, and communicating resource needs.
