In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development of structural components for innovative autonomous aircraft. Your efforts will significantly impact the performance and reliability of advanced technology that serves both military and civilian purposes. As a key member of the Mechanical Engineering team, you will collaborate across different engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet stringent safety and operational standards. This position is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer eager to influence the future of flight and take ownership of critical engineering challenges in an exciting and fast-paced environment. \n Accountabilities Lead the design and development of structural components and assemblies for the UAV platform. Own the structural design lifecycle including concept generation and drawing release. Utilize FEA tools for structural analysis and margin assessment. Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, and manufacturing teams. Facilitate material selection and focus on advanced manufacturing techniques. Participate in design reviews and technical decision-making forums. Oversee structural validation testing at various levels. Guide the creation of design documentation and compliance reports. Mentor junior engineers and oversee team members’ work. Identify opportunities to enhance design processes and workflows. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. 10+ years of experience in aircraft structural design. Knowledge of composite and metallic structures with understanding of material behavior. Expertise in CAD (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus). Experience with stress analysis and design optimization. Strong knowledge of DFMA, GD&T, and structural layout principles. Excellent technical communication skills and cross-functional leadership.
