Leidos’ Mission Assurance organization is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This team member will support the Land Defense Systems Business Area and will join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex problems. Some travel will be required for in-person engagements with internal customers and suppliers across multiple Leidos sites. This position will oversee and manage suppliers as they contribute product or services vital to our program’s success.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant work experience in a Defense/Aerospace Manufacturing Environment including and 5 years in either Quality or Supplier Quality Engineering under an AS9100 or other stringent QMS.
- In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 15 years of experience in supplier quality and/or quality engineering under an AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control.
- Candidate must have extensive experience working with non-conforming material, reviewing failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action (short & long term) received back from suppliers.
- Candidate must have experience performing supplier audits and assessments relative to program requirements.
- Candidate must be able to work with project managers, quality engineers, design & manufacturing engineers, and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are understood and communicated effectively.
- Candidate must have active problem-solving skills, working with minimal supervision and in teams.
- Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics, CAD models, specifications, and contract quality requirements, and other documents including AS9102 First Article Inspection.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong personal organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with people across the company and suppliers’ organizations.
- Candidate must effectively multitask by supporting various groups, products, and programs as needed.
- Candidate must have computer skills including experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and the ability to write technical documents.
- This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Travel is required for this position, with a minimum expectation of 25%. This percentage may increase as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with multiple standards and methods as specified on contracts and drawings, i.e., J-STD-001, IPC 610 and IPC 620 standards and drive that to usage at suppliers and Receiving Inspection.
- Experience working knowledge with assembly, integration, and testing.
- Experience working knowledge of one or more special processes i.e., paint, welding, chem film / anodize, heat treat, counterfeit material and be able to audit suppliers to the requirements of these processes.
