We’re currently looking for a Senior Sustainability Engineer to join our team and take on the responsibility of leading sustainability initiatives across a diverse range of projects, from design through to implementation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for implementing sustainability strategies across engineering projects. In this role, you will work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that sustainable practices are at the forefront of every project. You will lead sustainability assessments, environmental compliance, and the integration of renewable energy solutions, ensuring that all designs contribute to a greener and more energy-efficient future.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in sustainability engineering, with a focus on building and infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST) and other sustainability tools (e.g., IES VE, Trace 700).
• Experience with green building rating systems (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Living Building Challenge).
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainable construction practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and compliance standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration abilities.

• Lead and manage sustainability initiatives for projects in various sectors, including commercial, residential, and industrial.
• Conduct energy modeling, environmental impact assessments, and life cycle analyses to inform design decisions.
• Advise clients on best practices for energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, WELL).
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to integrate sustainability into engineering designs and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
• Oversee the implementation of renewable energy solutions such as solar, wind, and geothermal systems.
• Provide guidance on materials selection, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable construction techniques.
• Lead sustainability certifications and rating systems for buildings, ensuring projects meet or exceed sustainability targets.
• Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and assist with ongoing sustainability performance monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Stay up to date on the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in sustainable design and green building practices.
