Description

As part of the Infrastructure Team, the Sr. System Engineer (with focus on Cloud - Azure or AWS) supports the corporate hosting infrastructure by designing, implementing and maintaining the company’s hosting services (cloud and on-premise), physical servers, storage and backup systems. The Engineers are geographically dispersed to provide near round-the-clock coverage for the Corporate hosting infrastructure. As a Senior, you will drive complex projects, produces document, process and training for internal use as well as for external and customers and drives the continuous improvement process. As part of an operational group, you will also participate into an On-Call weekly rotation.
Travel - Domestic and International 3 - 4 times a year
Location - Hybrid Charlotte, NC with average 2 days per week in office

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Technical competencies

  • Cloud (AWS, Azure)
  • Kubernetes, docker solutions
  • DevOps Toolchain: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform,
  • Scripting and configuration : PowerShell, YAML, JSON
  • Cisco C Series Servers, Dell servers
  • Backup : EMC Avamar, Rubrik, Veeam
  • OS : Windows Server, , Microsoft Clustering, SQL Server, Linux
  • Virtualization : VMware with vSAN, NSX, SRM, HyperV, Nutanix

Education /Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 2 years experience managing and configuring Cloud resources
  • 10 years’ experience managing and configuring VMware environment
  • Good knowledge of cloud hosting platform is required
  • VMWare Certifications a plus
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers OS and VMware ESX/vSAN. Knowledge of VMware NSX would be a plus
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting servers, SAN’s, blade chassis, etc.
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Drive infrastructure modernization and cloud migration.
  • Manage container orchestration and automation.
  • Install and configure physical servers (Hypervisors)
  • Install and configure storage and backup system (EMC, Rubrik, Veeam solutions)
  • Regularly patch devices (firmware, drivers,…)
  • Manage backup systems, check that all jobs are running without failure
  • Install, configure and manage the virtualization platform (VMware)
  • Regularly patch servers OS through our global tools. Write related changes and monitor Patching Process
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Contribute to and maintain system standards
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
  • Provide excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to work down to desktop support level
  • Ability to be globally on-call availability for approximatively 10 weeks per year
  • Drive the continuous improvement process
  • Highly involve in automation and team processes
