JOB SUMMARY:

High-performance product team in Supermicro is seeking talented Storage System Engineer who can lead the technical collateral development of in-house storage system products. This individual will have the opportunity to define and implement latest data center and storage technologies, and to create proof of concepts and technical features to differentiate Supermicro product with others, and collaborate with storage ISV partners or end customers. This individual will also be the go-to person for product managers and system engineers to be the subject of matter expert in storage application benchmarks specifically in network, database, and AI related storage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in EE, CE or ME with minimum of 8 years system engineering experiences in server products is strongly desirable
  • Strong knowledge in server architecture and OS concept, and knowledge in storage computing is a plus
  • Knowledge in storage benchmarks(FIO/IOMeter/VDbench), Storage protocols (NAS, SMB, SAN and S3) and storage devices (HDD and NVMe)
  • Experiences in configuring Windows Server, Ubuntu, Redhat Enterprise Linux
  • Experiences in scripting languages (Powershell, Linux Shell) a plus
  • Strong knowledge with server hardware and architectures including BMC and OOB management
  • Experiences in technical writing and good communication skills

  • Test Report Development: Generate and publish comprehensive test reports, effectively communicating findings and insights to team members.
  • Test Automation: Utilize basic scripting skills to automate validation tests, increasing efficiency in testing processes.
  • Collaborative Product Requirements: Collaborate with Supermicro Sales teams, Field Engineers, and Product Managers to gather and refine product requirements for development.
  • Cross-Functional Project Work: Engage with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Component Managers, Sales, and IT, on assigned projects to ensure cohesive development and implementation.
