Description

JOB SUMMARY

Utilize industry expertise and extensive skillset within many arenas to support current and future Zetec products and services. Provide technical support to internal and external customers. Perform field service support, up to an including being an on-site lead. Work with Engineering, Product Managers, and other groups within Zetec to define product solutions to meet customer needs, perform internal and external training, software design validation and checkout, and recommendations for product enhancement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (see below)

Field Service

  • Perform Field Service activities including but not limited to, inspections of tubing in Nuclear Steam Generators and condensers. Activities may include data acquisition, technical support, repairs of Zetec equipment and direct interface with customer
  • Manage / lead an Acquisition crew of up to 20 persons
  • Participate in inspection activities to provide technical advice and consultation, acquire real time firsthand product performance information; and provide summary reports to other Zetec stakeholders as required (e.g. Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, etc.)
  • Perform necessary pre-inspection preparation activities to ensure success in field
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

Technical Support

  • Support the day-to-day operations of our ET Technical Support group
  • Manage all internal and external SG inspection hardware technical support inquiries
  • Participate in customer inquiries for technical and application support on Zetec systems
  • Utilize tracking system to document through to resolution all technical support requests

Product Test and Design Engineer (SW & HW)

  • Be the voice of Inspection Services group by providing real-life experience to our next generation robot, tester, and software
  • Make suggestions to Engineering Department to improve the fabrication and function of the equipment and/or software
  • Participate in application design projects as assigned
  • Support product test and verification & validation activities as required

Product Training (Internal and External)

  • In support of industry and Zetec sales activities, conduct product demonstrations, both independently and as part of a team
  • Provide product training and leadership to other members of the team
  • Provide product training to external customers and others in the organization
  • Provide documentation for effective solutions to customers for use and application issues

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to enter DoD cleared sites
  • 10 years or more of experience in the field of NDT
  • Experience supporting and instructing customers in technical areas both independently and as a team
  • Experience managing resourcing, scheduling, task assignments and general proactive job preparation
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined jobs and teams; manage crews of up to 20 people
  • Experience performing installations, electrical and mechanical repairs, and overall systems troubleshooting in a radiological controlled environment
  • Experience analyzing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting malfunctions of instruments and/or equipment and perform necessary steps to repair equipment. Communicate with customers to understand failure mechanisms as required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships quickly with personnel and Managers/Supervisors
  • Ability to run proprietary software on PC’s and workstations
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and employ effective time management skills
  • Ability represent Zetec in a professional manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers
  • Able to work effectively with both employees and managers and convey a positive and professional image to employees and external contacts
  • Able to solve practical problems and make decisions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Eddy Current Level II or IIA Technician
  • 5+ Years’ experience performing Eddy Current data acquisition at a Nuclear Power Plants
  • 5+ Years’ experience with ZR-100, MIZ-80 and Eddynet AQ software is a plus
  • 5+ Years’ experience with Eddynet DM and AN software is a plus
  • Historical working knowledge with other ZR and SM series robotic manipulators is a plus
  • Historical working knowledge with other MIZ series Eddy Current testers is a plus
  • Historical working knowledge with other Zetec software product lines is a plus
  • Unescorted access at a US nuclear utility in the last 365 days is a plus
  • Current or recent (within last 2 years) DOD clearance is a plus
