Description We are seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant in the Private Client Group of our wealth management firm. The Sr. Tax Accountant will review the tax assignments prepared by the Tax Accountants and prepare intermediate to complex tax assignments. Role qualifications: Must demonstrate strong analytical, written and oral communication skills and business maturity while working proactively in a client-focused entrepreneurial environment Must partner with Director, Tax, other department directors and the Managing Directors to obtain the information and guidance necessary to complete their assigned responsibilities Must manage multiple assignments and tasks in a demanding environment where time management, attention to detail, follow-through and meeting deadlines are critical In this position you will: Develop an intermediate knowledge of all clients through reading Commence notes, studying client files and completing assigned projects Develop a strong familiarity with the software tools available to complete assigned projects in a paperless environment Develop technical expertise pertaining to the various production departments through internal and external training Direct or assist with research on tax topics related to proposed or completed client transactions Assist in the development of processes and procedures for seasonal client deliverables Review tax assignments prepared by the Tax Associates Prepare intermediate to complex tax assignments for clients Assist with projects for other production departments Assist with training activities for the Planning Associates Complete other duties as assigned Requirements The successful candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, taxation, or related field Experience with a wealth management or CPA firm is preferred but not required Experience with individual, partnership or trust income tax returns is preferred but not required Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Strong computer proficiency (e.g. Word, Excel, Adobe, Prosystem, BNA and Outlook) Strong client orientation Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong team player Commitment to company values Clearstead is committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and strongly encourages applications from minorities and women.
