Description
Company Overview Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview Joby Aviation is seeking a skilled Sr. Technical Recruiter to help scale hiring in our Powertrain & Electronics division. You will own the recruitment process end to end and collaborate with key stakeholders onsite to streamline hiring performance. This role will support the team focused on the software that controls our electric propulsion units, battery management systems and high-performance flight computers (to name a few key functions). The ideal candidate has a deep background recruiting for complex tech stacks found in Electric Vehicles (EV), Autonomous Vehicles (AV), advanced Automotive Power-Electronics or comparable eVTOL projects. You understand that hiring for eVTOL requires a unique blend of aerospace rigor and automotive-scale innovation. Responsibilities Drive full-cycle strategic recruiting for highly specialized roles including Embedded Software, Motor Control, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Power Electronics. Partner closely with group leads and hiring managers to develop hiring strategies that scale and become a trusted talent advisor. Build sustainable domain-focused talent pipelines for active and passive prospects from target companies. Steamline interview workflows and optimize passthrough rates. Required 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience. 3+ years of software recruiting experience with a heavy focus on Powertrain, Electronics, or Embedded Software within the EV, AV, Automotive or Aerospace sectors. BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar field. Ability to work onsite in San Carlos, CA three days per week. Desired Experience recruiting from both established automotive OEMs and high-growth EV/eVTOL startups. Proficiency with recruiting technologies such as Gem, iCIMS, and LinkedIn Recruiter. Ability to leverage metrics to pulse check momentum and communicate bottlenecks. Additional Information Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $101,500 - $173,100/year. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more. Joby is an Equal Opportunity Employer
