This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Technical Writer (Remote- Part-Time) in the United States. This role focuses on creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for complex systems, including Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). You will work remotely, translating technical requirements into clear, accurate, and accessible manuals and training materials for both technical and non-technical audiences. The position requires close collaboration with engineering and project teams to ensure compliance with military and government standards, while contributing to high-quality instructional and reference content. You will be responsible for planning, designing, and reviewing materials, incorporating feedback from verification events, and ensuring content meets all contractual and regulatory requirements. Strong attention to detail, proficiency with markup languages like XML and SGML, and the ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic environment are essential for success. \n Accountabilities Interpret and apply Statements of Work (SOW), System Requirement Documents (SRD), and Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRM) to meet contract requirements. Author, edit, and maintain ETMs and IETMs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with military and government standards. Convert technical content for use in training modules, manuals, and web-based documentation. Participate in technical manual reviews, validations, and verification events, recording corrective actions as needed. Draft and revise User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) copy for technical products. Apply proper formatting, grammar, readability, and style standards to all documentation. Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to deadlines. Requirements U.S. Citizen with eligibility to work in the United States. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, English, or equivalent field, with 8+ years of experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Experience with technical writing tools such as Arbortext and XML; knowledge of SGML a plus. Familiarity with MIL-STD-45001-1, MIL-HDBK-1222, MIL-STD-3031/ASD, MIL-PRF-63002, MIL-PRF-63033, DA PAM 25-40, and TRADOC regulations. Proven ability to develop, edit, and maintain technical instructional materials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Active government security clearance at Secret level or higher. Desirable: Prior government contracting and technical writing experience. Technical illustration or EPCO experience.
